Remember, that's NOT a reason to stop paying attention to safety on the job!lol. The doctor was hot. I couldn’t even think about my hand while she was sewing it shut. I was to sidetracked visualizing myself railing her lol
I get to go back and see her in 7-10 days. Gotta get the stitches taken out.Remember, that's NOT a reason to stop paying attention to safety on the job!

This is why I don't tell people what I do for a living. Nobody ever asks their proctologist friends for a sidey. So I was helping a friend replace the transmission in his RAM truck tonight. When it was time to lower the old trans out, it fell resulting in me being brought to ER. The trans landed on my hand resulting in a clear hole straight through. We were able to see the muscle and bright white tendons between my fingers. This is why I don’t like doing side work. Even after ER, we still got it done though. lol
If I could get away from it I would. I feel like my whole identity of how people know me is just as a “Automotive Technician”. I’m tired of it. But there’s nothing else I can do that brings home $2k+/wkThis is why I don't tell people what I do for a living. Nobody ever asks their proctologist friends for a sidey.
Right, but the point is you don't SAY you are an "Automotive Technician" Say you got fired from that job so now you are a Coverdale model. If I could get away from it I would. As an intern I learned how to do radiographic weld inspection. I'm imminently qualified to do mammograms. This is why I don't tell people what I do for a living. Nobody ever asks their proctologist friends for a sidey.
There's nothing worse than working with or for assholes. Even if it pays better. Bad managers or bad management generates a lot of unnecessary stress. If you leave work every day pissed off about something - workload, bad boss, etc. - it isn't worth it.So timing is very interesting but I stopped by the Dodge/Jeep dealer by my house yesterday to say hi to a buddy that works there. We sitting by his toolbox just bullshitin and the service manager walks by and sees me. Says Hi and enters himself to our convo. Mentions their SRT guy recently quit and asked what it would take for me to go back. I’m seriously considering it. It was more money, less headaches and the cars are more fun to drive.it’s definitely racking my brain as I’m way more versed in MOPAR than I’ll ever be with Audi. It’s just a more toxic work environment
Say you got fired from that job so now you are a Coverdale model.
Your audience awaits you...I worked with a guy who moonlighted as a "chippendale"-ish. He had the physique for it but I recall his face was pockmarked by acne.I guess the wimmins don't care after a few glasses of wine.
He made more those couple nights a week than he did as a mechanic. That gave me incentive to practice and perfect my hip thrusts for potential future employment...

Around 1961 - 1962, my dad and his best friend drove from NY to Las Vegas in his friend's Jaguar XKE Roadster. My dad was at a Blackjack table and Dean Martin sat in the chair right next to him. I asked my dad, "What did you do?" He said, "I sold my seat to another guy for $10." LOL! True story.Based on Bobster's fan club above, a Christmas Story:
So there I was. It was a couple of days before Christmas and I'm in the old Rat Pack haunt in Palm Springs: Melvyn's. I was with my wife and her sister, who were wonderfully tarted up for the occasion. We were in the bar awaiting our table and the girls run off to the ladies room. I'm sitting there by myself and this old lady comes up to me and in a thick Brooklyn accent says, "Honey, are ya by yourself tonight? It's nice to see a man wearing a decent suit these days." Now, this lady was probably really something in 1955 and her jewelry was worth more than my annual salary. I told her I had a date but was very flattered that I caught her attention. I asked what her name is. She said it was Betty. I complimented Betty on her dress and asked if it was a special night - because she was really put together this evening. She says, "Honey, every night I'm still breathing is a special night."
The girls return and wonder what I'm doing talking to this old lady. So I introduced them and Betty says, "I cant compete with these two beauties. I'm glad to see you are doing well, honey." She excuses herself shuffles off. A few minutes later the bartender lays down a round of drinks, saying it's on the house. Turns out Betty is a personal friend of Melvyn himself and been a customer since the days when Palm Springs was the playground for Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, and all the Hollywood stars of that time. They were in his place every night. The stars all had homes in that Old Las Palmas neighborhood. Melvyn noticed I was nice to her from across the bar and thus the drinks. I look over and he gives me a nod. Kind of cool. Like stepping back in time.
I thought about asking her to join us for dinner but she had already been seated with someone. I'll bet she had some great stories to tell.
