WOTD (watch of the day) Thread. Post yours!

Never seen a metal one before. Very cool!
It's nicknamed by G-Shock fans as "The Cube." It was made only 1 year - 2007. It didn't sell well. Now it's a collector piece. I wrote up a review here:

I've been wearing this one all weekend. Known as the Casio "Duro." Maybe the best watch value in the entire watch market. About $50! I've got a better aftermarket strap (softer silicone) on it... for another $20.

Collect'em all! And dress'em up with aftermarket straps! ;)

I got mine as an Amazon return. Something like $36. I couldn't find any marks on it or evidence that it was any more than tried on. I put an Aliexpress President bracelet on it. That was about $15. After a tedious deburring of all the ragged edges on the bracelet, it isn't half bad. I don't have any confidence surfing with it but it is decent for desk diving.

Best deal ever for a 200M diving capable, old school, big dial for old eyes watch. The lume doesn't last long is the only flaw in the watch.

I'm a desk diver! (I made this photo a while back as a joke for one of my watch reviews.)

And there's this great scene from Two and a Half Men:

I agree on all counts.

Casio Oceanus (Japanese domestic market only line).

I've had a couple of the tactical/sporting type watches like the Casio. I tended to use all the cool functions at first and then never again. I gravitated to the kinetic watches like the Seiko. I had a really nice Seiko that was stolen out of my room in The Bellagio, Las Vegas while I went to the gym. I was beyond pissed off. Security just blew me off. I'm sure a lot of people 'claim' things stolen out of their room. I should have put it in the safe.

I replaced that watch with another Seiko that was solar. A chronograph type watch. I liked that too. When I converted to Apple, I gave that watch to one of my brothers. I think I paid somewhere around 300 bucks for both those Seiko's and I was completely satisfied with them.

The Rolex my ex gave me is nice. I had to have it serviced a couple of times. Like an exotic car I guess. Expensive maintenance is part of owning one. I very rarely wear it.

I don't use the cool functions on most of them, either. Mostly just to tell time. I might occasionally use the stopwatch feature.

Seiko makes some nice stuff, too.

I wore my Rolex daily for many years. But then it quit working. I stuck it in the safe for a while, as I didn't want to spend the money on the service. My Breitling was kaput at the time, too. I hated not having a watch, so I got a Casio. And then another... and another. And then some other brands of moderately priced watches. Then I finally got the Breitling and Rolex serviced, but I don't wear them often. Now they're "special."

Today's watch... This is a neat version of the famous G-Shock "square." The resin parts are carbon fiber and the metal bits down to the screws are titanium. It's super-duper lightweight. A feather on the wrist.
