What ya listening to?

OK... There's one "f-bomb" in the lyrics... in English, mind you. By today's "standards," that's pretty benign.

But the screenshot posted previously... is absolutely a TOTAL fabrication. I didn't see any of that in the Spanish lyrics.

That was grabbed from a related X post and perhaps they translated lyrics from the ORIGINAL song? 🤔 🤷‍♂️

It's on the internet... so it must be true... I mean false.

So I went and read the lyric link I posted to and a cursory glance didn't show any "naughty" words. 🤔 So I translated a few verses and it became quickly apparent the screenshot of a verse I posted was NOT what he sang at the SB.

Were they actually lyrics from another of his songs? Quite possibly and maybe he only used the melody from those songs with different (safe) lyrics. 🤔

At any rate, I deleted the verse in question and am sorry I misinformed some of you and embarrassed that I got duped by some X/twitter A-hole. 🥺 When this happens it gives our side a bad look--like we are assholes or something (which some of us are :D ). I/we need to be more vigilant than that... :)

I could give a shit about the Super Bowl, Butt Buddy or whatever his name is. I keep getting Kid Rock confused with Hulk Hogan.

The NFL wants expansion teams in Latin America. I would not be shocked if somebody is already preparing for a team in San Juan and building a stadium.

The advent of sports gambling has turned professional sports into a rigged game where the outcome is decided by actuaries in advance. The only thing more rigged than pro sports is elections in Georgia.

With the right investments and elected officials, Puerto Rico could become the gold mine that was once planned for Cuba. Everything is always about money.

I was with you until this. What natural resources does Puerto Rico have (other than garbage piles)? Cuba has nothing but some sugar cane fields. I don't see either of them ever becoming a "gold mine."

Tourism makes a lot of money. Havana alone could make Disney World revenue seem like pocket change.

In the 50's and early 60's, Cuba was on a trajectory to be a vacation paradise and gambling haven. American companies (and the Mob) were making huge investments in Cuba. Problem was, poverty and civil unrest became a problem. Castro prevailed. In addition to tourism, Cuba is big enough and has the weather to support a substantial agricultural industry. It's not just a beautiful island. It's huge. Havana and the rest of Cuba has been falling apart since Castro took over. With capital investment and setting aside communist dogma, Cuba could be the new Hawaii. Except it's only 80 miles away from The Keys.

I used to do weekend junkets to Puerto Rico out of DC fairly often. Been all over the island. It was dirt cheap to get there. It has huge potential as a vacation destination. It's close and there's no international bullshit for Americans. The resorts are mostly average compared to others in the Caribbean but there are tons of unspoiled undeveloped beaches in PR. The food and local culture is marketable. Awesome sailing/boating destination too.

Tourism won't ever make them rich. Every tourist destination in the Caribbean is a shithole. Natural resources and / or PRODUCTIVITY can make them rich. They have no natural resources, nor are they a productive culture (they won't be making computer chips or anything else). Venezuela, on the other hand.... HUGE resources... more than most people (who focus on just oil) know.

Anyhoo.... back on topic... I had never heard of little Bunny foo foo, the "singer." Dude has no talent at all, from what I saw in that video.

Now THIS guy could sing....

About 30 million people visiting the Caribbean islands annually disagree. :)

Step outside the resort gates. They're ALL shitholes. Those 30 million VISITORS are IGNORANT.

I've been to my share... some VERY nice resorts... high end. Four Seasons, for one example... outside.... shithole. The PEOPLE who live there are mostly impoverished. The tourism hasn't made them prosperous. They earn a meager living... and it's better than if there was no tourism. But are they prosperous? Are those countries rich? Nooooooope.

To be rich or a "gold mine," they need natural resources or a productive / industrious and entrepreneurial culture.

Walt Disney disagreed with you too :) Orlando is a swamp. As was most of Florida at one time.

No natural resources? An ounce of coke goes for $1800! :) That's street price. Puro? It's close to $3000.
