Video Ay, ay, ay... People are STUPID (with guns).

I see three hots and a cot in their future.

Naaaa.... all future scholarship recipients to Ivy League schools, certainly!

I literally couldn't understand a word of what they said.

Over the last few years, my dad has been slipping mentally and was finally diagnosed with dementia last year after suffering a couple of strokes.

He had a couple of NDs with his AR s and my step-mother and nephew are both very lucky. Both were narrowly missed during these incidents.

I was given his AR builds and found that he had unsafe triggers in all three lowers. He had installed a grip screw that housed an adjusting screw to reduce the trigger take-up. The problem is that he had adjusted them to the point where the hammers would fall at the slightest bump. The trigger did not even need to be pulled.

Thankfully, dad is in a nursing home and will not be handling any firearms going forward. The holes in the roof have been sealed though the ones in the floors and plaster ceilings remain. At least being .223, they are not too visible.

Weakling. Hands like a girl. Notice he had a hard time pulling back the hammer? That was the tell.
One of the first cartridge guns I fired was a .44 mag. Unlike this fellow I didn’t relax my grip but I remember blinking and both hands were straight up over my head. It has quite a kick of you’re not used to it. Up till then all I ever shot was .22’s or my cap ‘n ball revolvers.

There are a ton of videos like this. Idiots with big bore guns think it's funny to give the gun to a geek or a girl knowing it will likely smack them in the head. Jackassery to get clicks. Like the old saying goes: It seems like fun and games until somebody loses an eye. :)

The first handgun I ever shot was 38 Special and not long after a 357 magnum. They all belonged to my uncle. He also taught me to hunt pheasant along with trap and skeet. He was a real stickler for safety.

Worst recoil in a handgun? My Ruger Alaskan Super Redhawk snubby in 454 Casull. Bear gun. A fine gun but good for nothing other than stopping an angry Yogi. Maybe second to that is the Deagle in 50 AE, but the margin between them is not trivial. The 454 Casull will loosen the fillings in your teeth. :)

It’s all gits and shiggles until someone giggles and shits

I'm calling either fake or they're using some sort of "rubber bullets." Watch the bit at the very end with this guy. There are no bullet holes in the backstop behind the balloons that pop. On the last balloon, he misses the first shot and the "bullet" bounces off the backstop and falls to the side. See green arrow and circle. Rewatch that last bit.

Who's dumber here???

How stupid are people? Someone is waving a gun at you and you STAY there? Worse... you APPROACH that person? Either your mind-reading skills are supernatural and you know the person is bluffing... (Willing to bet your life on that??)... OR... you're just fucking stupid!

Obviously he was unarmed. If that were me, she would be DOA.

If you are armed and someone points a gun at you and you don't take them out, you need to sell the gun and move someplace with low crime. I wouldn't criticize. Some people just need the face the reality that they can't do it. Carrying a gun and thinking that simply having one makes you safe is foolish. If you are unwilling or unable to shoot someone threatening you, then guns are not for you.

There is no thinking. No hesitation. No discussion. There is only your lizard brain recognizing GUN! and you react by immediately putting two rounds in the perp's chest.

I agree. But my point is how many people (who are obviously unarmed) are not even fazed by the fact that someone is waving a gun. They are acting as if she's not a threat to them and STANDING there or even CONFRONTING her! That's fucking crazy / stupid.

I don't get it either.

Maybe people are just desensitized to the danger. I don't know.

Fear makes people do crazy things. One of them is thinking you can talk you way out of a situation where the other person is nuts. In a rage. This woman with the gun is obviously uncontrollably angry about something. She's not in control of her emotions, which means she could kill you or one of those bystanders at any moment with that gun in her hand.

He couldn't try to disarm her physically because he's trying to manage the dog, who is also stressed out.

I might have disarmed her when she pointed the gun at the ground. That was his chance. Drop the leash push the gun and her arm away with your left hand and immediately punch her in the side of the head. Or under the chin. It would be lights out. One of several Krav Maga defense moves.

But as I suggested before, you have to have the balls to do it. No sane person is unafraid in this situation. Defending yourself has a lot to do with overcoming fear.
