Which adapter did you get? Mine has been flawless, and I don't notice it. It looks like it's part of the gun.
I generally don't like "adapters" or conversions, either. But when my wife got this for me, there was no "S" version.

Well I only put one in my full size 590A1
And I just spaced out the manufacturer.
They do a replacement shell lifter as well as the rubber dohicky.
But that should have also fit the 590 shockwave.

I have used the Opsol and the Defender. The latter is the better of the two for sure. I cannot get over the dread that it will fall out or break at the worst possible time. Even though that has not happened and I have run a lot of short shells in that gun.
yeah... I got the Defender, which I also think is the better bit of kit.

My Shockwave went through a few different evolutions and this is where it landed.
I added a Defender grip and recoil strap, extended safety, Defender adapter, Esstac cards, XS Big Dot, green CT Laser Saddle, Streamlight TL Racker, and a Taccom +1 extension/standoff with a wicked pickle fork cap. It's super maneuverable and easy to hip shoot.
In a previous incarnation, I had a pistol grip and a red dot on it, but I like this smaller package better.

The mag tube is pretty thin. Most breachers are excellent for poking but not breaching. Even on the barrel, I'm not confident in breachers. I do have breaching rounds. They seem to work pretty well on wood or fiberglass doors. Steel, my guess is not so much. Best to use a ram.
Fun Fact: There's a company that does breaching training for law enforcement (among other things) in Colorado. My partner and I talked to the guy that runs it. It was interesting to learn that in certain circumstances, using breaching rounds to blow the hinges off can work better than shooting the knob. You cant hold the door shut from the inside and propping up stuff behind it is ineffective when the hinges are destroyed. The whole door falls inward or can be pushed in vs. swinging open.
My partner and I bought this ram just in case we might need it. We have been hired to locate and return minor runaways a couple of times but (sadly) the need to bust thru a door has never come up.
You need have some ass to use it correctly. It weighs 35 lbs but feels like 100 when you try to swing it.

I created a "Zombie Brain Spike" for the 500. For soft zombie skulls OR display ONLY. Reason being is the tube lug is soldered on and probably wouldn't handle the torque of twisting in a live human's chest. But it is long enough...
I have a handle for it also so it can be used as a Garden Dibber. That is a thing you use to poke a hole in the soil to drop a seed in...

Personally, I have no desire to leave the legality of a shotgun to a local agent or prosecutor. Should the question ever arise.
If it was born a shorty it stays a shorty. Born a longie it says a longie.
You might be surprised to hear the bird's head grip is MUCH MUCH more comfortable when firing from the hip or chest level, which is the way these firearms are designed to be fired. The pistol grip positions the wrist in a way that it takes a serious hit by the recoil. Bird's head is way better.
I agree 100%. I'm not going to be a test case. I don't want to be on that radar.

When I had mine pistol braced, all the reading I did made me feel pretty confident I was legal.... BUT, that doesn't mean some idiot prosecutor with a chip on his shoulder wouldn't love to ruin my life just to put a notch on his resume. Better safe than dragged over concrete.

Yours started out as a shockwave, right? You are good to go. Brace is legal. Grip is legal. Stock would require a stamp.
I would really enjoy a Serbu Shorty, which is an AOW and requires a stamp. I had a chance to buy one and passed. Regret!

BTW: A couple of vendors have re-created/cloned the Serbu Shorty. Pricey though. Around $1200.
