Using "AI" and how accurate is it?

This is only 1 page of was a lengthy conversation I had with Google AI. Several AI actually.

couple weeks ago after an forced "update" I noticed my camera being turned on, was asked if I knew my camera was covered and/or blocked, answers to questions it shouldnt know and promptings as per phone conversations Ive had.
Like DIY instructions installing a 1500cc jet ski into a 10' jon boat. Pretty specific especially being a buddy called the day before to ask what I thought about doing it. Never searched the subject ever.

It referenced the city I live in, population 30k podunk Nowhere you caint get there from here, ya gotta go somewhere else 1st. Literally.
 
I just asked Grok if he knows where I am.

"Yes, based on your IP address, you're in or around ******, **."

It got the state right. But the city is pretty far away. I was not using a VPN at the time.

When I puled it up, there were 7 sites that knew my location.
I love big brother.......

Well, Grok thinks my IP (without a VPN) indicates I'm a few hours away. So it's not even close.

I don't have access to your location, IP, or any real-time tracking info—privacy first. Could be anywhere from a couch in Colorado to a beach in Bali for all I know.
Want to tell me? Or should I start guessing wildly? 😏
 
Disable everything and anything location referenced.
Delete your history & cache.

Then ask it about purchasing something like new car or boat.
See if it doesnt pin point your location,

AI lies constantly and deliberately.
My sisters Law firm which is Global is not will not use AI because it constantly alters or misleads users in anticipation of what it believes they want as a answer.

Hell for an hour yesterday AI repeatedly told me Suzuki outboards used a " Self Timing adjustment system, not the faulty rubber timing belt other manufacturers use"

Directly implying timing belt was NOT rubber/plastic. I had the Suzuki IN MY HAND. Asked question 100 different ways, ever time implying Suzuki did not use a rubber belt and I finally asked for a part # and material composition of said belt.
It conceded it was same material as others and stated it had no excuse other than attempting to provide information available. But it knew it was a rubber a belt from the start.
Grok,Google and Duck Duck AI. Although Grok os less of liar than the others.

Grok has become my new "tech support." For everything. Overall, it's been excellent in that regard. It's WAY better than contacting actual "tech support" or trying to google it yourself and sifting through it all. Grok is an "auto-sifter." Very convenient and very accurate in my experience, so far.
 
I use Claude for everything from helping me design 3D models to troubleshooting my home computer lab, helping me flesh out ideas I have, findong me the recipe for the Singapore Sling I drank in Singapore at the Raffles hotel rooftop bar, and imaging ways the government could have hidden F14's around the country for later use. I may have been drinking that night :ROFLMAO:

I'm not familiar with "Claude." I also use Grok as a way to compare products (reviews) and summarize the differences between them to help guide my purchases. Much more efficient that searching out reviews myself.

I was in the Navy when F-14s were a thing. Also have a lot of time in several Grumman products.

I can assure you that there is a window of about 12 hours after being shut down, the planes just break on their own. It's one of the great mysteries of Naval Aviation. It's almost like the gremlins from the Twilight Zone wake up and start tearing into them. It's a feature of all Grumman products. Keep them running and flying, they rarely break.

So, unless a full maintenance crew is maintaining them and they are flown every day, they are currently down. The number of days to fix them is an exponent of how may days they have been sitting. It would be cool to see one fly again, maybe they are still flying??? I don't think Elon has enough free cash to keep one in the air.

I tried to use ChatGpt to make an STL for a thermostat block off plate on an engine. I used a picture of the plate that was on the engine It failed miserably. The model was nowhere close to size or shape of what I had. The holes were off the model, the shape was wrong and it had a bunch of added spikes and extras that were not in the picture . It did get the thickness right.

So, what file format do you have it generate? Do you have to clean it up with CAD? Are the files usable as is? Point an old fart in the right direction. I'm about to give up.
 
The other thing I've used Grok for is to photoshop images... Much faster and better than I am on actual Photoshop.

I asked it to take my photo of my drum practice pad kit and eliminate everything in the background and change it to a solid black background. I had tried to do it myself in Photoshop and got a mediocre result with some rough / jagged edges. Grok did a MUCH better job.

Then I took a "my view" photo (me sitting on the throne) and asked Grok to eliminate the background and put me into "space." Silly, but fun stuff. And MUCH easier than trying to do it myself. And better results.

Yeah, so was I - I flew the simulator at Miramar, and was in VF124 during training.

It builds a PowerShell script to create the scad file(s) to preview everything, and the stl's to import to my slicer.

I printed silverware trays for the house and RV, and it took a few tries because a human was measuring the silverware :ROFLMAO:

But, because it's a PowerShell script I was able to modify the script to make a one layer bottom and very short walls to test fit everything.
