Steve Dowdy, owner of Bob’s Gun Shop in Norfolk, said the legislation is having the opposite of its intended effect in the short term by forcing people to buy "current stuff now." While the law signed by Gov. Abigail Spanberger restricts magazines to 15 rounds and targets certain "assault firearms," it allows owners to keep equipment they possessed prior to the July deadline.
