Race day! The ONLY sporting event that I make a point to watch every year (my entire adult life). And it's the biggest single-day sports event in the world. Largest attendance. 350,000 people there to watch in person. I've done it 3 times. It's an amazing place and experience.

Weather is iffy today, which is no bueno.

Helio Castroneves will be running his TWENTY-SIXTH consecutive Indy 500 at age 51! That's an "old man" in auto racing. His grid position is 14. If he wins today, he would be the first ever 5-time winner. Go Helio!

The pole-sitter (#1 in the starting grid) is Alex Palou who qualified at 232.248 mph!

Let's hope for a break in the weather and a good and safe race!

Amazing finish. Closest finish in Indy 500 history. 0.233-seconds between 1st and 2nd.

I watched. Definitely an exciting finish, although I’m an old school race fan and thought it should have finished under caution. I get that it’s more exciting for fans to have a green flag finish but it is what it is. A little NASCAR influence I suppose.
Then I watched the Canadian Gran Prix.
For me the only sport I make a point to watch is F1 and occasionally Indycar and IMSA. As a child I was brought up going to Road Atlanta and later Road America.
