Goddammit! Oh shit. I just fell down... .twisted my ankle on the edge of the garage concrete (where it meets the driveway). I was putting all my trunk stuff back in the car after I got home from getting the new tires. I think I might have seriously fucked up my ankle. Went down on my face in the driveway. I heard and felt something pop on the outside of my ankle.

I got dizzy from the pain... had to sit in the driveway for a while. Limped back into the house.

I may have to go to the hospital. Serious pain when I walk on it. FUCK ME!

I hope it isn't serious! We keep a soft cast around for times like these. Crutches and a walker in the attic.

Maybe get some safety tape and mark the edge of the lip. And your front and back doors. And the door sill to your car. And the edge of the tub/shower... ;)

Definitely get an X-ray. Sprains can hurt worse than a break. Lots of moving parts and rubber bands in that area so I’d definitely get that checked out by a doctor.

Hope it’s nothing major, but things going pop sounds like it more than just a twisted ankle. Good luck!

At the VA ER now.

But I was serious about the lip of the garage. :)

Back when the kids were young I coached basketball. 8-12yo. In a pregame warmup on the court one of kids got under me and instead of stepping on and crushing his foot, I landed on the side of my right foot, breaking the outside metatarsal bone. I coached the game with a limp and was still able to drive (a stick). The break wasn't compound and the doc said a cast was optional and I optioned not to. I'd have to don the soft cast in and out of the car and used a cane. Used the cane for about a week and the soft cast for about two weeks. Not quite a "Jones Fracture", the break was more near the middle of the bone and healed well.

That sucks. If it’s any comfort, I had a prostate exam at 8:30 this morning. Hell of a way to start the day.
One of my favorite bits by Ray Romano when he was doing stand-up.... About anticipating his first digital prostate exam...

"Part of me worried that it would hurt....

And the other part of me worried that it wouldn't."

Back from the VA ER.... Broken ankle. I knew it. Non-displaced fracture of lateral malleolus of the left fibula.

Well that sucks. I was thinking tendon based on your description. Did they put you in a cast or is surgery required?

Non-displaced fracture. So a boot and crutches.

I would MUCH prefer that! LOL!

I agree! I wonder if someone (or me) can bevel off that ledge. I've rolled my ankle the same way on that same fucking spot MANY times. This time was much worse, of course. I've got to do something about it.

I had to wear what would describe as a compression sock on my calf for months. To hold the torn up muscle tissue together while it healed up. I luckily only had a minor nick on the fibula. No broken or shattered bone. Sheer luck.

I really wasn’t aware of the pain until after I was treated. After surgery a doctor came in to observe the wound and I was still a little groggy. When he touched my leg it was like being stabbed with a red hot knife. I was told that I grabbed him by the throat and said I was going to kill him. I don’t remember any of that - except the pain. This was the subject of a lot of morbid humor among my co workers afterwards.

So.. what are they saying about healing up? 8-10 weeks?

When the doc at the ER told me I broke my fibula... I told her that my son broke his fibula playing hockey. She shot back, "Well he EARNED his!" LOL! Great timing and comeback.

Right now... pain is much worse than yesterday... normal.

But at least... I'm SOTW (student of the week) on Drumeo....

serious way GIF
