Glock & Smithson

I took the pistol out this AM and shot a couple boxes of my 124gr cast loads thru it.
Boring. It ran like it was supposed to. I was concerned I might have cut away too much
metal for the slide stop to do it's thing properly. (See post 19 & 20 of this thread). No
worries, the slide locks back far enough to insert a full magazine and strip the first round
easily.

I'm going to get some more of these kits and squirrel them away. I wish threaded barrels
were cheaper for them. In the next couple weeks I will play with the idea a glock clone
threaded barrel will fit and function. Then I'm going down that rabbit hole.

What length are the barrels? Do they make a "compact" version of the gun?

After I posted my last I dug around in my barrel pile and found
a couple barrels that dropped into the SD9VE slide. One was a
Glock 23 barrel and one a after market 23, 40-9 conversion barrel.

I've got to go out of town for a couple days but when I get back
I'm going to shoot those barrels in the SD9VE slide.

I also did a try and see on a 23, 40-9 threaded conversion barrel.
The width of the barrel hood was too wide but I'm sure if it's
dressed down with a file and stone it will work.

It was a really quick fun project and the gun is very nice to shoot. I’m still debating on sending the slides off to be milled for an optic.

Send them off and get them milled. Then your shit eating grin will be contagious
