In the 45 years since I have been "in the area" on the USS Ranger waiting for the hostages to be released I hae never had "Iranians in multiple cities in Iran will be calling for the return of the Shah" on my bingo card.

There are also reports that people are waving the flag from before the 1979 revolution,
 
People get tired of tyranny, oppression, and equal poverty. Since the "revolution," they've regressed to quite literally the stone age.

I've mentioned before that I had a co-worker in 1985 that was in the Republican Guard under the Shah.
Very nice guy.
One of our Tenh Reps on the F-14 platform had spent time in Iran working with their air force on their F-14's and talked about how nice the people were, and that he'd go skiing in the mountains.

I pray that the people of Iran can overcome the tyrany they have lived under since 1979.

Been watching this as well for the past few months. Looks like the Iranian people have the IRGC on the run for once. I remember the fall of the monarchy in 1979, now it looks like I've lived long enough to see Pahlavi's grandson restore it. The protests are popping off all over Iran.

Woke up this morning to news that we are bombing the shit outta Venezuela. Looks like direct attacks on an ammunition depot in one of the container ports as well as going after air defense and command sites. Though there is a report circulating that we even struck Hugo Chavez's museum and grave (now that would be a massive symbolic flex.)

Happy new year folks... looks like scores are being settled all at once. The Cubans and Columbians are all going nuts right now too.
