PF-45 45acp/10mm

Anyone build a PF-45 large frame chambered in 45acp and use a 10mm conversion barrel to go dual caliber? If so, how did it work out?

My understanding is that the barrel must be changed out every time as well as the extractor. Mags, of course must be correct, G20 for 10mm and G21 for 45acp.

I'm considering trying this. The 10mm seems like a hot round. It would contrast well with the 45acp. I will probably always favor the 45acp because it's like me; short, fat, and slow (with the benefit of being very destructive). But, I've been intrigued by the 10mm for a while.

I've built a bunch and the PF45 is my favorite large frame. You can use a G21 slide and a G20 barrel but not the other way around. Use a G20 extractor and it will work on both but a G21 extractor won't work on a 10mm round. Even if you run the G20 extractor, you may have to file a bit off the back of the extractor feet so it get's a better grip on the casing or they will extract into your face. Lastly, yes, you need to run the right barrel for the caliber you are shooting. Armorally makes a great G21 slide and barrel for not a whole lot of money. I highly recommend their slides as you can build a .45 or 10mm for not a whole lot and it will run great.

Various barrel manufacturers, not difficult to find. I’ve got large frame barrels from armorally, Lone Wolf, Trybe, KKM, Glock, and others.

Externally, its made to the dimensions of the G21 barrel, but for 10mm internally.
