If you’re a veteran and not rated at or near 100% Get rated-go get your money.
No age barrier

This is a fairly newish organization that helps vets get rated. The CEO is a marine. If you have hit a brick wall not getting rated for additional ailments or getting increases using your free VSO groups, I can recommend VetComm US. It’s not free however they have a money back guarantee if you don’t get rated (for anything) after 3 rounds of attempts.

Meaning 1. File for x gets denied, 2. Refile supplemental for xx gets denied, 3rd time refile xx -denied you get your money back. No time limit to complete.
or …..any claim filed you get rated, you win ! If it’s within 6 months from sign up- you get to file more no cost.

This is my experience — I’ve tried DAV and CalVet VSO. The most they could help me with was up to 40%. They file using old school paper method which take forever to get adjudicated. Any attempts at increases- denied, all attempts for new rating- denied. I sat at 40% for yrs. Pact Act- I filed on my own and got additional rating to 50%.

I learn about VetComm last year I feel like I hit the lottery. I sign up pay 1 time cash amount- they send some videos on how various common C&P’s are conducted. A work book to help ID possible disabilities, and few other pointers on filing/winning your claim.
A) Have 1-1 zoom meeting to help you ID new claims, secondary, and increases. They ID many so there’s lots of chance for u to get rated. They ID stuff u never think of based of what other vets get rated on.
B) They go on VA.gov with you (u log on) get your claim started with an “intent to file”. If no evidence is needed your claim gets filed(see E below) Everything is digital / fully developed, goes straight to the raters.
C) make an appointment for next zoom meeting if you need time to collect evidence (civilian med records, buddy letters, write up your own statement in support of claim, etc…
D) email all your evidence to your contact
E) zoom appointment you both file your claim on VA.gov. Again you will be filing for several items to get a better chance of getting rated. They fill out the comments and upload docs for you as they have “connections” and know the key verbiage to input. Then it’s time to wait.
F) I Submit another intent to file- get on the back pay clock for the next set of claims.

They provide support throughout the process. You can call or text questions or concerns any time

-Soon as you get notification for C&P- contact the support team. They will coach you on how to do each exam type and make sure you are ready. They may also ready you for any tricks the examiner may attempt to “get you” on.

After the C&P your team would like feedback back on how you think you did. From then it’s a waiting game.

My rating went from 50% to 80%- 1 claim of 4 denied. Took 4 months to get rated 9 moths for the denial.
I would not have been rated this high without their help.

Contacted VetComm again - since I was rated the 1st time I payed $500 for additional assistance. We put in a supplemental for the denial; they wrote a buddy letter with medical evidence for me. Also, submitted 2 increases, 2 secondaries and 1 new claim. The pay clock started on this claim about 9 months ago -see F intent to file above. C&P 2 weeks later- pretty sure I did well with their coaching information, I’m going to be close to 100% after this one….thats my goal. I’ll know come this fall. Will up date you.

You may have heard much about nexus letters. Not needed. Those nexus letter mills & so called claim lawyers will rip ya off, take your back pay and won’t even help you through the claim process. The VA has a list of nexus letter mills they disregard them. Write your own statement in support of your claim- hundreds of vets are already rated for what ever ailment(s) you may have. They have set a precedent simply point to it and the VA has to accept that evidence as a nexus. For example back or knees- nearly every vet has back and knee issues resulting from heavy backpack marches, going up and down ladders/hills, enormous amount of time on the feet, on hard surfaces, picking up heavy items etc…. You don’t need anything in your medical record either.

So….. check out VetComm the goal is to get vets to 100% disabled

Recently they have been doing live Q&A on youtube, zoom, tictok couple other platforms. If you attend the live and text the number they give you (during the live show) they will do a free consultation and give a $200 discount off the cash price if you choose to use their services. About $1,000. That’s a great deal IMO.
Here’s yesterday’s live- Watch live every Thursday 1530 PST

Watch this video- it’s a bit slow in the beginning start at about 4-5 min in it gets better

Is tinnitus a "disability?" And can it be proven to have been caused simply by being on a ship? The turbine whining sound was fairly loud in my stateroom. :)

Of course, my tinnitus can also be from a variety of causes over my life! Loud music. Occupational noise, too.

In any case, I've got pretty bad tinnitus. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee all the time.

Yes ! It is a definitely a disability. A very commonly rated disability @ 10%. So much so that very shortly the VA is changing the rules to make it nearly impossible to claim it. CLAIM THIS NOW ! Immediately before it’s gone forever and connected to hearing loss. In the future if you pass hearing test -forget about the noise in your ears…deny.

Yes you can have it simply as a result of your job (engineer/ flight deck noise prone )or location of your work space ( pencil pusher office adjacent to flight deck, missile mounts etc..)

Ummm all that other crap over your life is not part of VA disability conversation- that doesn’t exist on your claim. If you want help with this it’s an easy one- right now. Best part about this easy 10% rating it comes with a huge list of secondaries. Couple big money payers : 20%- 50% headaches, 30%-70% mental health (anxiety depression). If I were you I’d watch VetComm live next week, get your free consultation and start your journey to the Hundo club.

So, what's the first step?

We had a bunch of pipes through my stateroom. Steam and fuel, I think. A fair bit of constant whine, especially when the ship was steaming hard.

I am not sure - is tinnitus the rushing I hear almost constantly?
Well, Mayo clinic says it can be....
I did get a hearing test, but the guy who did it said I need a better kind of test that the VA won't pay for because the VA one is in a soundproof room with a headset where you just listen to 'beep' and click the button when you hear it.

My shop was right below flight deck and had probably 100 PC style fans running constantly not to mention air handlers and etcetera (we had priority air conditioning to keep the test equipment cold)

Yes the noise in your ears that never goes away is tinnitus. There are various sounds from high pitch, low pitch, swishing etc…. There is no test to verify it’s happening. I suggest contacting VetComm for a free consultation. Get the ringing in the ears then go for the whole host of secondary’s.

I am rated for knees and back, and they claim my hips are not related - I feel like they might be a link from back to knees ;)

Now they are claiming I have sciatica, which I also feel may be related to my back :)

i did mention the the audiologist that I had the rushing sound all day and night. so it's on record..

I wonder what their angle is? What do they charge for the service?

Get started- go to
Sign up/ sign in

Then submit an intent to file- search box - intent to file if the link below doesn’t work after u sign in.
This will start the pay clock. It’s good for 1 year. U have 1 yr to file your claim before it expires

Get ready, write your statement in support of claim. Use search box- statement in support of claim if link below doesn’t work after u sign in.

Or lay statement - do not submit - get the form , fill out file pdf for records and uploading

Make pdf of your statement as it will need to be uploaded when u file claim on line. I will provide a couple examples of a statement for tinnitus. Use the statement tool I provided above to help u write yours to personalize it.

Give me a few I’m loading stuff 4 u

Did you watch the Q&A video or click the web site ? They support you during the full process / coach you on how to win your claim - Free VSO doesn’t do this.
If you wait to contact them during the live show on thurs you get $200 discount off the published price.

What is the published price?

Never mind... I just saw it in your previous post. $900.

According to my VA "Priority Group," I am currently at 0% disability.

I didn't know tinnitus qualified. I seem to recall an audiology exam, when I did my first examination at the VA, but that was several years ago. If I did, I'm sure I would have mentioned the tinnitus.

So, I don't know if I'm going to qualify for this. But I guess I'll find out.

PDF (linked below) are actual letters for tinnitus on VA Form 21-10210 used the VA letter tool I linked above to write these.

Noise exposure MOS listing (area out lined in red on the doc) look up your job to see if it’s there to use that statement in your letter.

There’s a MOS List for each type service 👇

Don’t be discouraged if your MOS isn’t listed- can still have the disability if you were exposed to noise due to sub job- yoman or jr officer serving on flight deck crew, fire crew etc…
