Here's a fun backyard project. I built this solar pool heating panel from about 200+ft of black rubber garden hose. It's in a 4x5ft plywood and 2x4 box, and covered w/polycarbonate greenhouse panels. I initially used 6mil clear film but it didn't last long. Combined with another 150+ft of hose on the ground it'll keep a 8 to 12 ft pool comfy here in the northeast in one of the least sunny parts of the country. Just need enough bright overcast to sunny days for it to work. These Intex pools can be found on eBay for under $50 and they last 1 to 5 seasons depending how you treat it. First year w/a pink one, 8ft/750gal. We're living the Barbie lifestyle now!
