Had a bud that was into ultra light back packing who showed me his stove. I made two of them and have used them several times when winter storms have knocked out the power.
They will boil a cup of water in about the same amount of time a microwave will.
Runs on denatured alcohol.
Instructions can be googled.
Safe for indoor use with appropriate precautions.

If you're not the handy sort, you can buy a commercial version for about $20.

So, the factory stove I briefly mentioned was reduced in price and I bought it just to see how it compares to my home made stove.

This is what's in the box:
The stove itself.
A screw on cap with an o-ring to allow a fueled stove to be carried without leakage.
A simmer ring to subdue the flame when low heat is needed.
A sturdy stand that holds the stove off the surface.
A drawstring storage bag.

The stove works as intended and has the advantage of the included accessories.
All for $18.
While I can't say I look forward to the next time it will be needed, I'll be glad to have it when I do.
