Commiefornia on the move again!

Obviously written by a Commiefornia liberal. I/we could pick out a page of Mis-information so easily.

Good lord... the photo at the top of the article: Let me aim this at your hand.

Typical liberal mindset. Let's blame the tool and not the person using the tool.

This is ridiculous Glock addressed the problem of their “failure to prevent conversion of their guns to dangerous automatic weapons” with their gen 4 & 5 models. What is really stupid is that those models are not available to the public (only LEO)… due to micro stamp law not on or will never be on CA safe gun list.

What exactly was that?

? The modifications ? Not sure what u are asking. Glocks gen 4-5 are not easily converted into a “machine gun”. The issue CA gov has with Glock is it’s easy to convert into auto.

Not saying I agree with any of this, it’s all BS. I for one follow the US constitution to hell with the Communists.

Was wondering what they did to address the issue.
  1. Internal parts redesign – Glock altered components like the firing pin, trigger group, and slide to prevent compatibility with common illegal conversion devices (e.g., the “Glock switch”).
  2. Different slide cutouts and dimensions – These physical changes make it harder for generic or 3D-printed auto sears to fit or function properly.
  3. Stricter tolerances – Gen 5s are built with tighter tolerances that make tampering more complex.
That said, while Glock has made it more difficult to convert Gen 5s, no firearm is truly immune from illegal modification if someone has enough technical skill and intent. But Glock's updates do significantly hinder casual or plug-and-play conversions.

OK just the Gen 5 had many changes but the trigger parts are backward compatible so not sure how the changes did anything? Most of the slides are also backwards compatible with a barrel change. Wonder if that’s just a CYA/press release and or even true?

Thats the info I got from doing research, Glock claims to have “fixed” the easy auto mod issue. Im not so keen on deep research on line about auto conversion. Some words may cause eye balls to look my way. Not so interested in that occurring considering where I live.

If that were actually the case, you would think California would put in the approved list.

CA requires firearms added to the list must 1st comply with the micro stamp rule. Glock isn’t going to spend money on tooling just to appease CA. It’s stupid, a stamp is required on the firing pin - ok like that can’t be replaced with one without a stamp.

That said I just found this new development : “Given the legal injunction and the provisions of SB 452, new handgun models are not currently required to include microstamping technology to be added to California's handgun roster. Manufacturers can submit new models that meet other safety and performance standards, such as having a chamber load indicator and a magazine disconnect mechanism, without the microstamping feature”

So, maybe Glock might attempt to submit gen4/5 to the roster if it passes all of CAs other requirements ?

I don’t keep up with CA government fire arm laws. I looked around for info as a result of your inquiry. Nice to see the micro stamp crap is not required. That’s subject to change as left leaning courts are bogus these days

The mag safety is what is going to get them. :( I don't see it easily incorporated into the glockish platform but I'm also not a gun designer... 🤡 ;)

The micro stamp change just happened ….this month. I don’t see Glock changing anything just for CA. Hopefully the Glock that is on the safe list won’t be pulled. People will most likely turn them in at government gun grabbing buys. Ours are not on record , neither are our 1911s, so the government has no documentation we have any weapons except for my Walter. We had to buy something in order to get ammo when they made residents register to buy ammo. Stupid.

I trained with and carried a full auto MP5 for a few years. The sub gun platform lends itself to that but I never understood the appeal of a full auto handgun.

Good subguns utilize designs that minimize recoil so you can gain some control over sending rounds where they need to go. Simply filling the air with lead and little control is not very effective. Fun? Sure. For ten minutes. Then you get over it.

It's sitting on Newscum's desk waiting for his signature.
It should go without saying that clones are also banned by default but they were already banned by not being on the "list". Glock should go full Ronnie Barrett and stop supplying guns and parts to CA LEOs. Watch how well crime is (not) controlled then... What are they going to equip their officers with? P320s? :D

Why do the good have to die young when scumbags like Noos'em successfully and undeservedly avoid the dirt nap... 😠

Not sure if you noticed the massive price increase Glock sent out for parts yet but they are all about the money. Pretty sure Kathrin needs a new jet. They will sell to California as long as there are buyers and it is a huge market.
