Does your EDC double as your home defense gun? Or do you have different guns for each purpose?

In either case... Why?

For me, they're different.

For home defense duty, I've got an FNP-45 Tactical. It's a BEAST that has a 15+1 capacity of .45-ACP. It's simply not a carry gun... because it's a BEAST. Maybe Andre the Giant could conceal it.

For EDC, it's long been a Glock 27. But, I'm "transitioning" to a G19 size EDC.

Daily carry - custom Glock I built. (Glock 21 frame, LW Slide and barrel in 10mm)

Home Defense- Winchester 1200 12G loaded with Rodesian Jungle rounds. The Glock doubles as backup.

Different, and varies based on the situation...

Carry gun(s): Glock 33 with a TRL-6 or occasionally a Sig P320C. My current employer doesn't believe in allowing the carry inside their property, so my carry guns have to fit in the center console of the Subaru. Just one of those compromises.

In the home on the farm: Semi-Auto clone of the M4 carbine. There is zero concern about over-penetration out here. Though I do keep a bolt action rifle up in the kitchen. Mostly for picking off groundhogs in the garden. I would use the M4 for this as well, except for the spent brass bouncing off the cabinetry. (There's a funny story hiding in here... about emergency plumbing to recover a piece of 223 brass... but I'll save that for another day ;) )

Out on the farm (except during deer season): Usually the same M4, although it could be anything that strikes my mood. M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, M1A, and on an on... Just about any of the center-fire rifles in the rack get carried outdoors up here.

Out on the farm during deer season: Bolt rifles only. I'm a fan of the MDT chassis, so most of the Rem 700's and Savage are chassis rifles. Last thing I need is some trespasser or nosy neighbor calling the PA Game Commission to accuse me of busting the game laws, so no carrying the semi-autos.
